How Do I Prep for Power Wash Day?

One of the questions we get all the time is:

“Do I need to do anything before you come power wash?”

The answer is yes… but not much. A few small things can help the day go smoothly and make sure we can get everything cleaned safely and efficiently.

Here’s the quick rundown.

Walk Around the Outside of Your Home

Take a walk around outside and see what you notice. You may see some items that could get in the way of patio or house washing like outdoor rugs, planters, patio furniture, toys, or decorations.

Go ahead and move these items into a shed or away from the space we’ll be cleaning so they stay safe and dry during the process.

Moving items ahead of time also allows us to clean every surface without obstacles and helps prevent anything from getting knocked over.

Move Vehicles From the Driveway

If we are cleaning your driveway or walkway areas, please move vehicles away from the area before we arrive.

Parking on the street or somewhere off the driveway gives us full access to the space and helps avoid needing to interrupt you to move a car while we’re there.

Make Sure Windows and Doors Are Closed

Please make sure your garage doors, front and back doors, and any nearby windows are closed before we start washing.

Even though professional washing uses controlled pressure and proper techniques, water can still reach window seams or door frames if something is left open near the work area.

We always recommend doing a quick check before the appointment just to make sure everything is shut.

Keep Pets Safely Secure

Power washing equipment can be loud, and there will be hoses and equipment moving around the property.

For the safety and comfort of your pets, it’s best to keep them inside and away from the work area while the cleaning is taking place.

Let Us Know About Any Problem Areas

Every home is a little different, and homeowners often have specific areas they want us to focus on.

If there’s something you’d like us to pay special attention to, just let us know ahead of time. That way we can give it the extra care it needs.

A Simple Checklist for Power Washing Day

To make things even easier, here’s a quick checklist you can follow before your appointment:

  • Move small items and decorations
  • Move vehicles from the driveway
  • Close all windows and exterior doors
  • Keep pets indoors
  • Unlock any gates needed for access
